Motorized Z Axis
Overview
This motorized vertical stage enables precise, repeatable Z-axis movement of laser optics in beam delivery assemblies. Designed for integration into automated systems, it offers programmable height adjustment for collimators, process heads, or focusing optics—making it ideal for multi-layer processing, variable workpiece heights, or applications requiring fine vertical positioning. The heavy-duty linear stage, combined with a stepper motor and integrated guide system, ensures smooth travel, rigid support, and high repeatability across demanding industrial environments.

Motorized Z-Axis Units from this series are fabricated from high-grade anodized aluminum and stainless steel to provide high speed linear positioning of various autofocus and/or laser process head designs. A high torque DC servo motor, belt drive, and precision ball screw provide trouble free operation. The linear stage is guided via (4) miniature recirculating ball trucks. Stage over-travel limits are sensed by non-contact proximity sensors.
