BA-CAM

BA-CAM®

The BA-CAM® is an ISO 13694 compliant beam analyzer camera designed for precise laser beam characterization. Its modular design accommodates various wavelengths and beam diameters, handling laser input powers from milliwatts up to over 30 kW. The system offers real-time measurements of spatial intensity distribution, ellipticity, orientation, centroid, and beam size, complemented by patented attenuation technology providing inherent attenuation exceeding 100,000 times over other sensor technologies. The user-friendly software includes ISO-compliant M² measurement capabilities in scan mode, allowing for recording and playback of measurements.

  • The ISO 13694 compliant BA-CAM® (Beam Analyzer CAMera) is the most compact and advanced modular laser beam profiler on the market. This means beam characterization including spatial intensity distribution, ellipticity, orientation, centroid and beam size can be easily measured. In addition, patented attenuation technology provides an inherent attenuation of > 100,000 times over any other sensor technology. Its modular design means it can be configured for use any wavelength, beam diameter, and can accommodate laser input power from milliwatts to over 30KW. All of this with state-of-the-art, easy to use software with the ability to measure an ISO compliant M2 in a scan mode. This gives the ability to record a measurement and play it back at your convenience.

    Customer Requirements:

    • Power Over Ethernet (POE) Injector or switch, 48V 15.4W Power Over Ethernet, IEEE 802.3af Compliant, 10/100/1000Mbps
    • Cat. 5e, 6, or 6a cables only.

    Recommended customer computer specs.:

Computer with Intel Core i7 processor, >8 GB RAM, GigE or higher network card. Gaming graphics card recommended for best speed.

  • The BA-CAM system supports a range of configuration options to handle different attenuation levels, beam sizes, and power levels. These components are offered separately from the base unit and are built to align with the specific requirements of each application. Because these configurations are not off-the-shelf, they are developed to suit the specifications of your laser setup. The BA-CAM can be used on its own or combined with the appropriate modules for expanded capability.

    BA-CAM® (High Power)

    Overview & Specifications

The BA-CAM Beam Analyzer CAMera and software enables laser beam measurement, analysis and monitoring of multi-kilowatt CW and pulsed lasers. The system design is based on the international standards ISO 13694 which relate to lasers and laser related equipment and laser beam spatial metrics. In every laser application, the laser beam profile provides valuable information for the most efficient use of the laser. By monitoring the laser beams spatial profile, circularity, centroid, astigmatism values, the system provides early warning of any problems with the laser and entire beam delivery optical system. This relates to increased quality, process reliability, and reduced scrap. The High Power BA-CAM is modular in design and can be configured for most applications and laser wavelengths. The design contains no moving components and provides instantaneous measurements and analysis of the laser beam and all active optical elements.

The High Power BA-CAM utilizes a patented† ghost suppression technology and a pending patent technology on a compact attenuator which provides the most compact, lightest weight profile measurement system on the market. Powers of more than 1 kilowatt can be measured with the right beam dump attached. BA-CAM configurations available for powers up to 30 kilowatts and fiber core sizes from single mode to any multimode size.

    BA-CAM® (BeamMapper™)

    Overview & Specifications
While Laser Additive Manufacturing is now capable of providing high quality components, many processes must also comply to DOD and FDA standards. This starts with traceable laser beam measurement and certification before, during and after the manufacturing process The Beam Waist Analyzer Camera (BWA-CAM) for 3D Additive manufacturing enables “real-time” laser beam measurement with “no moveable parts” for analysis and monitoring of high power CW and pulsed lasers. The above 3D Additive Manufacturing modular configuration includes the following technologies:

    Available in the following wavelengths

    • 350 - 1200nm
    • 9.3 - 10.6um

The BeamMapper is modular in design and can be configured for most applications and laser wavelengths.  Most galvo scanner lenses are not telecentric, so the spot seen at fields beyond the center will be elliptical or have aberrations from a poorly designed lens system. The BeamMapper will help you determine how well the scanner is working at all locations of the scan field.

Powers of more than 1 kilowatt can be measured with a suitable beam dump attached.  Configurations available for powers up to 30 kilowatts and fiber core sizes from single mode to any multimode size are available.
